México has some of the lowest rates of school enrollment among 15 to 19-year-olds amongst the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development nations.

Students in Mexico tend to leave education early. Some 62% of 16-year-olds are enrolled in upper secondary education, 35% of 18-year-olds are enrolled in education (19% in upper secondary school and 16% in tertiary education), and only 30% of 20-year-olds are enrolled (6% in upper secondary school and 24% in tertiary education).

What do we do?

Scholarships for Higher Education Rural Ensenada, Inc. works with exceptional students that are likely to quit their education because of economic hardships to their families. We seek exceptional students in need and grant scholarships so that they may continue their education. These are students that would probably drop out of school.

How do we support ourselves?

Scholarships for Higher Education is supported through donations from people like you. All individuals that work for Scholarships for Higher Education are 100% volunteers so that ALL donations go to our educational programs.

Are my donations tax deductable?

Scholarships for Higher Education Rural Ensenada, Inc. is an Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3) corporation. For many individuals that means that your donations are tax-deductible. Please check with your tax professional to verify your status.

Do all my donations go to the students?

Over 95% of donations go to our students. All individuals who work on behalf of Scholarships for Higher Education Rural Ensenada, Inc. are volunteers. There are some expenses such as the web page, some office supplies, and other costs. Please see our historical combined financials
